Many seem to have adjusted to the university course-taking lifestyle- heading to classes, taking midterms, buying a cup of boba tea during breaks. For a turn of events, the IPCP faculty presents a little ‘special’ excursion to Stanfordone of the nation’s, or possibly the world’s, most prestigious universities (aside from Berkeley, that is). This will be taking place on Sunday, 10th of July from 10 AM to 5 PM. According to the program coordinator Nick Nguyen, the trip’s 7-hour time period is highly attributed to the hours devoted to walking to the school campus, which would roughly take about 4 hours. The 1-hour trip during the bus would only take the students to an area that would only give proximity to the school campus. The rest of the time, predictably from 11 AM/12 AM to 3AM, would be devoted to a tour around the campus. The reactions to each and every student seem to differ after hearing the news of the excursion on the 10th; some seem to be faintly excited, others seem to be indifferent. Leona, a fellow participant of the IPCP program, “I have visited SFO three times already, yet I have never been to Stanford before. Hence, my first impressions on this trip include a bit of excitement, especially considering the rarity of such opportunity.” she states. A goal she wishes to accomplish during the trip includes ‘a better chance of socializing with others in the program’, quoted by the interviewee herself.
