In countries where English is the principal medium of communication, it is of paramount important to master the English language in order to be successful. This program’s mission is to provide students, especially students who are non-native speakers of the English language, with the essential academic and cultural tools to succeed in various settings, including American university system and other professional environments.

Program Overview

  • Live in Berkeley supervised housing
  • Attend classes designed to improve students’ English skills, including academic writing and communicating skills
  • Learn test preparation skills such as TOEFL
  • Participate in workshops with special topics such as English for health sciences or business vocabulary to enrich academic pursuits and develop into well-rounded students
  • Enjoy field trips to different locations around the San Francisco Bay Area

 

Program Time & Admission Requirements

Session I: June 19-23, 2017 (closed)

Session II: July 24-28, 2017

Session III: July 17 – 28, 2017 [this session will be held at San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley campus]

  • Minimum high school GPA: 3.0/4.0
  • English proficiency: IPCPEPT
  • One signed letter of recommendation from current school counselor

2017 Withdrawal and Refund Policy

  • 45 days before program begins: 90% of the refund
  • After program begins: no refund will be provided
